All monies raised at the festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. goes to the Girl Scouts to "recruit, train and retain volunteers who in turn teach our girls important leadership tools."
As of midnight today, 77 people had registered, with the hope that nearly two dozen more late registrants would emerge. Each has to raise $1,000 toward a $100,000 goal.
Schepisi is scheduled to launch at 9:40 a.m.

“We are always looking for ways to raise funds but also support the Girl Scout program and raise awareness about what the Girl Scouts has to offer,” said Betty Garger, the chief executive officer of the Girl Scouts of Northern NJ.
“We were looking for something different that was true to the Girl Scout mission of building courage and confidence,” she said.
Girl Scout troops from Bergen and Passaic counties, along with the public, will attend the family-festival portion, during which they can watch the rappelers and enjoy other activities.
The cost $18 and includes a rock climbing wall, an obstacle course, cookie decorating, music and entertainment. Food trucks and face painting will also be on hand for an extra cost.
“All of the money raised supports 30,000 Girl Scouts in the northern New Jersey area,” Garger said. “Of that, 10,000 are from Bergen County alone.”
